Autumn is easily my favourite season to do my make up in, I can wear copper cut crease and burgundy lipstick every day and not be told I’m ‘wearing too much make up’ (not that there’s such a thing). Over the last few weeks all I’ve worn is this look. It’s a brownish-red smokey eye with copper glitter, matte skin and a dark berry lip. It’s so easy to do and can easily be done for a night or day look.
First thing I do is my brows, for this I’ve been using the Benefit Goof Proof eyebrow pencil in the shade 01 Light. I follow the shape of my natural brows and fill them in lightly towards the front and more heavily towards the tail to create a natural gradient. After this I apply MAC Studio Finish Concealer on an angled eye brush to carve out my brows and clean them up and define them, I also use this to prime my lids – blending it in with a damp beauty blender. Next, I apply a brow gel but I cannot remember where I got this one from for the life of me!
To set the concealer on my eyes I take the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, followed by the shade Nudie from the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette on a big fluffy eyeshadow blending brush through my crease as a transition colour. I then take a mix of commando and tempted on the same brush and blend that into the crease to define it.
On the first outer third of my lid, I take Extra Bitter (Urban Decay palette again) on a medium sized eyeshadow blending brush and buff this into until it’s fully blended and smokey. As I’m doing a half-cut crease it’s not to essential that this looks neat.
Next, I cut half of my crease. To do this I take the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer using a flat shader brush. I then apply the NYX Glitter primer over the top of the concealer with the same brush.
To finish of the cut crease, I dip this into the NYX Glitter in the shade Copper. (Making sure to clean up any fall out with a face wipe)
I’m not a massive fan of winged eye liner on my shaped eyes so I just tend to go for a thin line across my lash line to hide the lash band of my false lashes. I tightline my upper lash waterline with the Benefit Push Up liner and then prep my top and bottom lashes for the false ones with the MAC 3D Extreme Definition mascara. For falsies, I’ve been using my favourite Pink River London Lashes in the style ‘Diamond’! Use my code BETHE15 at the checkout to get 15% off all orders! I then apply one last layer of mascara to my upper lashes to blend then into the falsies.
Once the eyes are almost done I can finally move onto the face!
The first thing I do is prime my face using the Collection Primed and Ready Mattifying, Pore Minimizing primer. I warm this up between my fingers and apply it wherever my skin is more porous.
Next, I take a damp beauty blender and apply the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation in the shade ivory all over my face, making sure to blend down my neck. Although this is medium-full coverage I like to take the MAC Studio Finish concealer in the shade NW20 that I used to prime my eye lids on a small detailer brush and use the same damp beauty blender to blend them seamlessly into the foundation into the area’s that suffer from redness or blemishes.
At this point I also like to use the Lush bubblegum lip scrub, Body Shop Born Lippy in Orange and the Vaseline cocoa butter on my lips to prepare them for the lipstick!
After this I move onto brightening. For this I use the NYX Select Cover Up concealer in the shade Ivory and the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer in the shade Fair. Firstly, I’ll use a flat foundation brush to apply the NYX concealer to my chin, forehead and undereye area – blending it in with a damp beauty blender. This hides any discolouration and adds highlight. To further brighten my face, I take the Collection concealer and apply this over the top, using the same beauty blender to blend this in.
To set my face, I take the Rimmel Stay Matte powder in the shade Transparent on a big fluffy brush and dust this all over my face before taking a setting brush to concentrate on the areas I applied concealer.
I then like to finish off the eyes by taking a mix of Extra Bitter and Lock out on a pencil brush, blending this onto my lower lash line before applying more bottom lash mascara!
Next, I like to bronze up my face using the Rimmel Sunshimmer bronzer in the shade Light Shimmer on a blusher brush around the perimeter of my face!
After this I contour using the NYX contour powder in the shade Sculpt on a contour brush. I apply this to the hollows of my cheeks and around my temples; using my beauty blender to defuse any harsh lines. This also helps in preventing the bronzer and powder looking muddy. To contour my nose, I take a flat top eyeshadow brush and use the edges to carve out two soft lines either side of my nose and blend gently. The key with this is less is more!
For blush, I’ve been using the Kiko Milano Velvet Touch Creamy Stick blusher in the shade Coral Rose on a flat top foundation brush and slightly sweep this across the apples of my cheeks to add to the bronzed glow.
To make my skin glow even more I take MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in the shade Soft and Gentle on a fan brush and apply copious amounts to my cheekbones, centre of my forehead, browbone, chin. I then take some on my index finger and apply it to my inner corners.
After this I spray my face using the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray to keep everything in place!
To complete the look the use the NYX Liquid Suede Cream lipstick in the shade Sandstorm followed by the NYX Butter gloss in the shade Ginger Snap!
That’s it for this look, I think it’s so gorgeous and autumnal and major glam!
