I am partial to a good old pamper evening, not gonna lie I probably have about 3 a week, but this is the routine I’ve been using for probably the last 6 weeks or so. As I’ve been working from home with blogging I find it so hard for my mind to fully shut itself off at night so I need to use things that help me relax and forget about work, or I’m up until 3AM looking at my laptop.
Around 7PM I’ll usually shut my laptop off and take my make up off (my staple for this is the Garnier Micellar Water) before taking a shower (if you have long hair you know the struggles of washing your hair in the bath). On my hair, I’ve been using the Tony and Guy Cleanse shampoo and conditioner which makes my hair feel absolutely incredible and leaves such a nice shine. To shave my legs, I use the Lush D’Fluff shaving cream which makes my legs feel so damn smooth! Then I use the Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Breakfast Scrub Body Smoother to remove any dead skin cells (hmm sexy get @ me boys 😉 😉) followed by the Feather and Down Sweet Dreams Melting shower cream. This stuff contains lavender and chamomile to help soothe.
Next, I’ll run a bubble bath to relax my muscles. Recently I’ve been loving the Lush ‘Comforter’ bubblebar. I find this such a warming scent and you don’t need to use much to create a load of bubbles. Whilst I’m in the bath, I tend to light a few candles, grab a book (tonight I went for ‘Sense and Sensibility’ by Jane Austen), and put the Lush Cup O’ Coffee face mask to make my skin feel squeaky clean.
Once I’m out I’ll dry off and use Sleepy body lotion from Lush to moisturise my entire body. I’ve been using this for almost a year now and without a doubt it helps to calm my anxiety and send me to sleep! I suffer with nightmares but this has calmed them so much. This is infused with lavender so smells gorgeous and really does work, if you get anxious, insomnia or nightmares I really do suggest you give it a try. I’ll then usually cleanse and tone my face with simple products as they’re much softer than my Clean and Clear ones after a deep exfoliation mask, followed by Vanishing Cream moisturiser from Lush.
At this point I’ll normally light a few candles in the living room, turn the fairy lights on and cook (order) a pizza (health blogger right here). Tonight, I put the Bad Education Movie on and cuddled up in my blanket before bed and did my nails. At this point my hair is normally still damp so I’ll dry it off using the John Frieda Frizz Ease serum.
Before I go to bed I brush my teeth and apply my teeth whitening kit, then I pop my fairy lights on and move all of the cushions off of my bed and spray the Feather and Down Sweet Dreams pillow spray allow over my bedding and rub the Feather and Down Sweet Dreams sleep balm into my pulse points. At this point I’ll either read my book some more or turn the lights out and get some sleep.
