In my secondary school, no make-up was allowed at all until year 10 or 11 and even then, it had to be natural. Luckily my school was fairly relaxed about this and welcomed (sort of, wish they’d have stopped it) my emo-phase eyeliner (thank God, no photos exist). Rather than creating my actual school make-up look – it was horrific, I want to try and save someone from going through the same embarrassment by doing a light, natural and glow-y make-up look. All these products are drugstore and incredibly affordable so it’s perfect if you’re doing your make-up on a budget.
First, I prime my face using the Collection Primed and Ready Pore Minimising primer!
Once that has sunk into my skin, I take the Nivea Tinted Moisturizing Day Cream in the shade Natural on a stippling brush and blend this into my face and down my neck. This is so lightweight and looks like there’s nothing on the skin, so it’s perfect for school.
Next, I take the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the shade Fair and apply it under my eyes, around my nose, down the bridge of my nose, eyelids, forehead, chin and on any redness. I blend this in using a damp beauty blender.
After this I take the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder on a big fluffy brush and dust this all over my face to set everything in place!
To contour I take the NYX powder in the shade Sculpt on a contour brush and with a very light hand apply the powder to the hollows of my cheeks, around my jaw line and down the sides of my nose.
For blush, I tend to go with pinker tones, and use the Make-Up Revolution Baked Blush in the shade Loved the Best on a small stippling blush and apply this just to the apples of my cheeks.
I skip highlight because of the shimmer through the blush!
On my eyes, I take a small amount of the contour shade through the crease on a big fluffy brush just to add slight depth.
For eyebrows, I comb them through then lightly fill them in using the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Hazel. I follow the natural shape and focus on sparse areas.
I then coat my top lashes in the Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. I always leave the bottom lash line clean so my eyes look more open and awake but keep the naturalness.
To complete the look, I take the Vaseline Lip Therapy Balm in Cocoa Butter ad massage this into my lips until they’re all soft.
