MAC Mineralize Skinfinish is probably one of the most sought-after beauty products of 2017 so I thought I’d take the plunge and see if it was any good.
I looked online at the colour range, which isn’t too bad in all honesty. As I have milky-white skin but like to bring some colour to my face when I do my make-up I went for Soft & Gentle – a light golden/peach colour, rather than Warm Rose which is a lighter pink and would likely wash me out. It’s £24.50 for palm sized pan (10g) and accordingly keeps up with MAC’s luxury name. Shipping was free and it took around 3 days to arrive.
Upon first impressions, there was much more product that I expected and was peachier in person (it looked more golden online and in photos) but was still fairly true to colour and has flecks of glitter in it. One thing I did notice is that it seemed quite powdery which I usually hate. When I swatched the product it was much less chalky than I thought it looked and applied from finger to arm smoothly with high pigment.
I used my Sephora Fan Brush to apply it to my face and OH MY GOOD GOD!! The glow was incredible! It applied so smoothly and didn’t need much build up to full pigment but the glitter didn’t pick up as much as expected. The second time I used this I sprayed my brush with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to emphasize the pigment and I can tell you now the glitter picked up 100x more than it did when the powder was dry.
